World's Greatest Dogs

My first nature documentary.

This was all about the world's greatest dogs and was amazing. My favourite was this massive and soooooo fluffy dog who rides a scooter. Like how adorable is that! All the dogs were really cute but it was only 15 minutes and I feel some of their stories were a little bit rushed.

Couldn't give the dogs a low score- 8/10

Winnie the Pooh: Springtime With Roo

Love that the title rhymes.

Roo is adorable and I was so happy to see a film all about him at Easter time! Rabbit makes them do Spring Cleaning Day because last year Tigger ruined Easter. Not going to lie here: the beef between Tigger and Rabbit is actually amazing and I live for it. Anyway, Roo is super cute and keeps saying he doesn't care about Easter as long as everyone is happy.

Roo you are a blessing - 7/10

Winnie the Pooh

So glad there's quite a few of these films.

So, Eeyore lost his tail and Pooh is absolutely starving. That is kinda the whole story and all they do throughout the film but it had so much more substance and made sense! It was so hilarious and I actually really want a Pooh Bear for my birthday.

Beautiful film - 9/10

Waking Sleeping Beauty

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SLEEPING BEAUTY!

I am bitterly sad as I love Aurora- she was my favourite princess growing up. It is about how Disney evolved throughout the years basically. I found some facts useful like the stuff about the computers and Pixar but overall, no thanks.

Disappointed and feel very led-on - 3/10

Tinker Bell

Not overly related to Peter Pan...

This was so cute! It was Tink's origin story basically and how she becomes a tinker. I liked how it did sort of incorporate her personality from Peter Pan with constantly wanting attention at all times. I thought her friends were better characters than her though and I loved the male tinkers!

Pleasantly surprised - 8/10

The Tigger Movie

So glad this cutie got his own film!

Tigger realises he has no family and goes on a search to find them. However, the most wonderful thing about tiggers is that he is the only one. So the search is kinda pointless. I think it was a bit dragged out and I could easily see where this was going with some others being his family. Also confused why CR wasn't in it much?

Overall, super cute 8/10

Now You See It

Not to be confused with the better film: now you see me.

This TV guy is searching for the best young magician. Anyway, this kid is a wizard and it all gets kinda strange. I did really enjoy watching all the magic bits and I mean the plot was a lot more original than all the sporting ones.

Neutral feelings- 5/10

Max Keeble's Big Move

OK, so Max is an awful character.

I did not like him one bit. Which was a shame because he is the main character. Basically, Max thinks he is moving away and so messes everything up and does naughty things and his friends get really annoyed about how quickly he could forget them.

5/10 - no comment

Mars Needs Moms

Didn't expect this to be animated but I don't know why?

Milo's mum was taken by martians because mars needs mums. Anyway, Milo isn't having any of it and goes with them in an attempt to save his mum! This was really cute and also kinda thrilling watching it. I found that guy who lives there but is human super annoying and I don't even think he deserved a good ending if I am honest.

Unexpected gem - 7/10

Moana

BEST FILM EVER!

This film was absolutely amazing and I do not know why I have not watched this before! Moana needs to save her island and sets sail with her grandmother with her the entire time (I cried multiple times) and gets this guy Maui to help her. It was funny and heart-warming.

Nothing to criticise- 10/10

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Oh my gosh, how cute is this bear?!

I was kinda confused about what was going on and the transitions were not that clear to me. I am still unsure whether it was supposed to be one big story or many little stories. But these characters are adorable and I love their adventures. Some parts had me in stitches!

Needs clearer story line - 7/10

A Goofy Movie

Did not think I was going to enjoy the Mickey Mouse films as much as this.

Goofy takes his son Max on a fishing trip as he gets into some trouble at school and Goofy is worried he is not being a good father. Max was super annoying and I think he would've been grounded with his attitude. So yeah, I do kinda agree that Goofy needs to be tougher on him. Anyway, Goofy is super cute and such a great guy.

Goofy gets an 8/10

George of the Jungle 2

OK, these films are brilliantly awful.

Favourite part by far was when they said that the ape was 'swinging' but of a different sort. Comedy gold! Basically, Ursula's mum wants her to get back with Lyle and then like hypnotises her and its all a bit weird. I loved Junior though he was cute. And I am so glad Ape came back.

Still, kinda rubbish - 5/10

An Extremely Goofy Movie

I managed to watch both Goofy movies while my mum queued and shopped- the world was gone mad.

In this sequel, Max (Goofy's son) goes off to college and leaves his dad...but not for long. Goofy gets fired and has to go back to college to get the qualification he needs to find literally any job. He falls in love with the librarian and it is the cutest thing I have ever seen! And Max and his dad grow to become closer. Although like, wasn't that the point of the first film?

Max is annoying - 7/10

Descendants 3

Best one, no need for more.

This time Aurora's daughter becomes bad and steals Maleficent's stuff and starts taking over Auradon. I love this character arc, it fit so perfectly! The villains and heroes have to come together to defeat her. This is so beautiful and the ending was what was needed for these films. It is a lovely story and I have to admit I cried.

Loved this trilogy - 9/10

Descendants 2

So glad they made another.

This time, Mal struggles to continue to be good and fit in and wants to return to her home in the Isle but Uma (Ursula's daughter) has taken over and is so angry with Mal as she wasn't picked to come off the Isle. I personally got so annoyed at her leaving the spell book and started to hate King Ben for like two minutes. Aurora's daughter is still annoying and I don't understand why Gil (Gaston's son) is a pirate.

Slightly downhill - 8/10

Descendants

These films... brilliant idea!

Descendants is set in a world after the 'ever after' where Belle and Adam run the town and all villains live on the Isle. Anyway, Belle's son then says that as his first thing as king he will choose 4 villain kids (VKs) to come and live with them. It is a massive battle between making their parents proud and being evil or choosing to do good! Some of the songs are a bit odd and I hate Aurora's daughter- she sucks.

Highly impressed - 8.5/10

Beauty and the Beast: Belle's Magical World

What the hell is this?

So basically there are three short films which do not fit into the timeline. The beast is still a beast who is kinda nice and kinda mean and there are made-up characters. The short about the bird who broke their wing was my favourite. I found the feather duster really annoying in the Valentine's Day short. And the one all about the new characters? Awful!

Do not recommend - 2/10

The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again

Where did the orphans go?

This time, those outlaw guys are trying their hardest to not be criminals. But like they are in the bank at the wrong time and get accused of stuff and the chief really doesn't like them. I mean, some parts I did giggle at but nothing memorable.

I missed the kids- 2/10

Apple Dumpling Gang

Before I start, this is NOT my sort of film!

There are three orphans and their Dad only cares about this money that they have rather than the kids. Which I found very sad and I wanted to adopt the kids. Anyway, these two annoying out-laws (I think that's what you'd call them) help these kids protect their stuff in the bank. I thought it was kinda cute, especially the ending. And I liked it when that woman started a bar fight. Aside from that, didn't rate it.

Not my cuppa tea - 3/10

Mrs Doubtfire

I actually used to love the film.

But OMG is the dad kinda creepy?! I never thought about it like that until I watched it this time through. It is about some divorced parents and because the dad does not have a place for them to live or a job he does not get custody. Which I mean is kinda fair. Then, he dresses up as an old lady and pretends to be their nanny. Yeah sounds weird but it is actually really good and hilarious.

Laughed my bottom off 7/10

Parent Trap (1961)

Jeez this was old!

This is about two twins who are separated at birth but then meet each other at a camp and then make a plan to get their parents back together. This film is good but I did feel it was dated. I am very excited to watch the Lindsey Lohan version as the story line is very comical but like some of the things they were saying I was confused with.

Too old 3/10

Pixel Perfect

OK, what the hell.

This guy who is really good with technology and for some reason his dad also has a lab fancies this girl in a band. However, they can't get through to another round in a competition so they make a HOLOGRAM. They then have to try to conceal her identity so people don't realise and honestly I just found her really creepy. Oh I almost forgot, then the guys FALLS IN LOVE WITH THE HOLOGRAM.

Weird 3/10

Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel

Is this the worst cross-over ever?

Basically, there are too many characters and I got confused but the baddies want to ruin the world and Phineas and Ferb are the Avengers (not sure they were though) only hope. Perry didn't get enough screen time for a start as the character which everyone loves the most.

Yeah, not good 4/10

Space Buddies

These dogs are adorable.

This time the buddies sneak onto a school trip and end up going to the moon. Yeah, the dogs walk on the moon. Yeah, it doesn't look good. Yeah, it was weird. I mean the whole concept is odd but then all of these films are. Once you get over how annoying the movement of their mouths is as well it turns out to be decent.

Just over average 6/10

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure

Yay, my favourite character from HSM gets her own movie!

But wait, she doesn't seem the same character. It's Ashley Tisdale but she's not acting like Sharpay. I wanted like the mean girl from HSM, she was likeable!! She goes to the city to pursue her acting career. the movie was quite sweet and I am happy about how much screen time her dog had as he really made the movie I won't lie. But Sharpay would not have cleaned a toilet for anyone!

The dog is the only reason this is a 4/10

The Suite Life Movie

So I think this was once they did the 'on deck' series and it started going downhill...

Basically, they join this twin research study but the scientist is like evil. It was sweet seeing the relationship between the twins strengthen but like I expected the super cute kids from The Suite Life and I did not get that.

Too high expectations 3/10

Teen Beach 2

How did this get a sequel?

This time, people from the movie come into the modern-day real world. This movie was just kinda disappointing and one film which really did not need a sequel to it. I did find it kinda funny with how annoyed the characters were getting though. I also hated the relationship of the two main characters like they made themselves kinda miserable, and I did not understand the ending.

I was in a good mood I guess 4/10

Teen Spirit

Thanks for supporting feminism...

So the popular girl dies at her own prom and she is supposed to go to hell however she gets a chance to go to heaven if she completes a task. She has to make the least popular girl the new prom queen. I found the whole thing not a good example for young girls and with a 0+ age rating I think they should have been a bit more mindful. Like, even at the end when it all comes together and the nice message comes out, I just wonder why she still had to have hair extensions in and everything. The girl was beautiful without.

Wrong message given, 2/10

Teen Beach Movie

OK, this was weird.

So this girl and her boyfriend are surfing but it is windy then suddenly they end up as part of the cast in this knock-off of West Side Story which is a knock-off of Romeo and Juliet so I can't help but feel the whole idea of falling in love with someone who is "forbidden" is kinda old now. But anyway, they have to work out a way to get back home to normal time...

Like I said, kinda weird but I laughed a lot so 5/10

Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie

I LOVED this TV show growing up.

This was about the family going on holiday to the Caribbean (it really annoyed me how they pronounced this though) and then Alex messes everything up and they have to try and fix it. The film is going and very heart-warming but bits were quite cringe and the scenes when they are using magic do not look realistic in the slightest.

Blew my mind as a kid, not anymore so 7/10

Walle-E

This was better in my head.

I kinda forgot what the movie was about and just thought it was a super cute film about robots. But was I mistaken or what... Wall-E was made to clear up earth and it was actually so scary thinking this could be our future. I was startled for the rest of the day thinking about what could become of life if we used more AI etc.

I just wanted a light-hearted animated film... 5/10

Trail of the Panda

I was not prepared for the amount of tears shed.

This is about this boy who doesn't really speak much and he rescues this panda cub in China. I am unsure whether this was a true story but I am pretty sure it is. I found it very moving but this is not something I would watch again. I found it way too sad...

Went through like a whole box of tissues so 4/10

Tuesday 19 May 2020

The Mighty Ducks

Kinda boring.

This lawyer guy coaches some team and I think it's supposed to be really sweet. I just found it so average. Again, I feel lots of Disney films follow the same plot and I'm kinda sick of it. I found it boring but that's not the film's fault.

I'm in a good mood so 5/10

Life is Ruff

Ha ha what a funny title.

This film was actually decent. This kid sneaks a dog into his house and trains it for this dog show. I actually really found it heart-warming and there was some back bone to it. I mean there is still room for improvement but I was pleasantly surprised as I didn't expect much from a title like that.

Well done Disney, 7/10

Luck of The Irish

Never watch this while drunk or stoned.

Basically, this guy wants to learn about his heritage and then he realises they are leprechauns. Yes, leprechauns. The mum shrinks into some tiny thing and his ears go weird and I just didn't get it. I was left scared and confused.

Awful 1/10

The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning

Clearly movies don't need story lines.

The whole thing is that music is banned. I don't get it. That is an awful plot. Who pitched this? What were they thinking? Why was this made? So many questions... But seriously, this ruins the whole franchise. I loved the first film like what the hell Disney.

Bitterly disappointed... 2/10

The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea

The start was so sad.

I was worried I was going to be crying the whole time. Anyway, I despised the main character. Maybe too much. But I did not like Melody. I felt sorry for Ariel having to get into all that trouble because a child wants to break the rules. Funny how perspectives change as you get older, huh.

Melody ruined it- 4/10

The Little Mermaid

Such a classic!

This film is beautiful. It is about a mermaid princess who longs to be a human and to walk on the land. The songs from this movie are phenomenal and always stuck in my head. The characters are so fun as well, but I didn't remember Sebastian being such a little jerk like grow up mate and stop telling on Ariel. Ursula is also like scary. I was scared.

Out of this world, get it, not part of your world... anyway 9/10

Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch

I couldn't even remember this one.

I thought this one was about a weird yellow thing but it wasn't. It was really good, basically Stitch starts going bad again and messing things up. This causes tension. I still love the relationship between Nani and Lilo: it is BEAUTIFUL and shows children of different families which could mean a lot to some children to feel 'normal'.

I cried again- 8/10

Doctor Dolittle 2

I asked for a plot and they delivered.

This time there is a start: he has to teach a bear who lives in the circus to become a country bear and make another bear (who sounded like Lisa Kudrow) fall in love with him. This film had great potential except for the twist with his daughter where that magically repairs their relationship. I thought that bit needed work.

Overall, a decent 7/10

Doctor Dolittle

Interesting concept.

This is about a doctor who works a lot and doesn't spend time with his family and then realises he can talk to animals. I mean I did find this humorous but the plot was slightly off. I just felt there wasn't an underlying story that was told but that may just be me being fussy.

Could do better- 6/10

Davy Crockett: King of the World Frontier

Yay, another one.

This film is still not my sort of film, but I should have watched this first. I giggled once, can't even remember why though. I think this guy is a bit of a legend but he kept not doing what the major told him to do and he irritated me.

Glad the DC is over- 2/10

Davy Crockett and the River Pirates

Not my kinda film.

This random guy finds 'river pirates' as he is on this like journey thing. This is actually like a sequel to another film which I did not realise and watched this one first. I wish I hadn't as it would have made more sense watching them in the order the man intended. However, this still isn't my choice of film.

Would not recommend 1/10

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen

A movie about me... yay!

This is about this girl who moves from the city to a new school but wants to be the big popular girl. Lindsay Lohan is the one trying to be popular... where have I seen that before? This was a pretty neutral movie, if you were having a girly sleepover then it may be a good fit but I found it kinda bland to be honest. There's nothing wrong with the film, I just didn't find it exciting.

A mild 5/10

Lion King 1 1/2

I love the bit when they go to the handbag channel.

Unfortunately that is also kind of the best bit. This time, the story of The Lion King is told from Timoon and Pumba's perspective. It is funny but felt kind of repetitive and like a waste of a movie. I liked the new bits such as seeing all the meerkats and the scurry, sniff and flinch bit but we did not need a repeat of all the bits with Simba.

Funny but waste of a film - 7/10

The Lion King

AKA Hamlet.

Despite how long I booed my eyes out, this is a great film. It is about an uncle who wants to be king so kills his brother and banishes his nephew. Simba then lives with a warthog and meerkat and honestly that trio make me laugh so much. I did fid Mufasa's death tragic and when Simba is telling him that they need to go home it broke my heart.

The sad bit was unnecessary so 9/10

Lilo and Stitch

Stitch is the cutest 'dog' ever.

This film is one of my childhood favourites again. It is about this alien that gets banished from his alien planet (I think but they try to get him back so I know I have got this wrong) and a girl and her older sister who does her best to take care of Lilo as their parents passed away but the social are almost taking her away. I loved how this film combined something which some children could really be coping with and how it is OK to miss your parents after they pass away as well as exploring the difficulty in the relationship between Nani and Lilo.

Great film - 8/10

Lady and the Tramp (re-imagined)

I was excited to watch this...

I found it weird. And disappointing. It follows the same story line as Lady and the Tramp original but this time real dogs are in it. I found it kinda creepy and not kid-friendly if I'm honest. I have very mixed feelings and felt so let down by this.

5/10

Kronk's New Groove

Does this movie make me laugh the whole way through? Of course it does, you idiot!

That's a quote don't be offended. This movie is fabulous - it is all about Kronk this time and is really funny. He really wants a thumbs up from his dad and he believes the only way to get this is a wife, kids and a big house on the hill. We see the past few years and how it all went wrong for Kronk. I love this film but I did not really like Birdwell - she's too bossy for Kronk and I don't think they'll last.

Lost a mark for her so 9/10

Cowbelles

What a heart-warming story.

This is about two spoiled girls who have to start working when their dad goes away but then the whole company gets broke etc. and they try to help. It is so sweet and I loved the ending. I did not overly like one of the sisters (the one who wants to throw the party thing) and she really annoyed me the whole way through. I understand how she adds to the story but oh my gosh she's so annoying!

Overall - 7/10

Benji The Hunted

If you're looking for a pretty much silent film then bingo!

I found this whole thing like really sad and scary... This is not how I thought the film was gonna go down if i'm honest. It is about a dog which is trying his best to survive as he has somehow got stuck in a jungle - I was not paying much attention at the start. I think this Benji guy is more famous and I think there are a couple films about him to be honest.

I was sad the whole time - 2/10

Tangled

This was my first time watching this film. This film is based on the story of Rapunzel. A girl has this magical hair so the baddie (Mother...
