Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel

Strange crossover.

I was watching this with my brother, he left. I usually like Phineas and Ferb and find the whole show really funny but this was not. Perry was cute as usual. I didn't even know any of the villains except venom (I mean I only saw that because of Tom Hardy). I am not looking forward to the Star Wars one now.

Prefer these to be kept separate - 4/10

Ratatoille

EW, a rat is in the kitchen.

I really don't like rats, apparently even cartoon ones. I kept hoping that someone would get the rat out of the kitchen - better movie is where the rat opens a restaurant for other rats, and humans don't eat food made by a rat. I really liked the Emile rat - I think that's his name and thought he was funny.

3/10 - I don't like rats

Recess: School's Out

I loved this show growing up.

This film was awesome when I was a child... not so much now. Like the actual plot of what the man with the laser is trying to achieve was so random. But I still liked watching back some of my favourite characters. Spinelli is still my ultimate favourite and the constant references to beating everyone up kept making me laugh.

Spinelli gets a 6/10

Sammy: The Way Out Seal

Was expecting poor things.

This film was actually brilliant. It is about these two brothers from the city and they were playing at the beach with a seal and just steal it. The adventures Sammy gets up to is hilarious. However, like I don't understand how it is all chill at the end even though he was running riot around town. That was odd.

Better than I though so a 6/10

The Simpsons Movie

I had low expectations.

This movie was actually really funny and I was very impressed. I also found it kinda creepy watching it in lockdown as like it feels like I am also trapped in that glass dome... weird. I did drop a few marks off because like the bit where Bart rides his skateboard naked was odd... and I was honestly shocked by Homer's behaviour the whole way through the film.

A pleasant surprise - 7/10

Those Calloways

I think this was a cowboy film.

This film had the worst fight scene in it that I have ever seen in my whole life, I mean I'm not going anywhere so this is a record that can be broken. This film was made in the 1960s and I could really tell, like the quality was pretty poor. I think it's about a family who want to help out the geese and give them like a place to live... but I may be wrong.

Left confused - 0/10

Treasure Buddied

These dogs are adorable.

This film is about an archeologist man who goes on an adventure with his son to get Cleocatra's necklace. And like 5 puppies go with them. The dogs are cute, but I still can't get over how they went to Egypt by themselves. I also hated the monkey, I think he was called Babi and therefore the ending really annoyed me.

Monkey should've not told the story: 4/10

The Vanishing Prairie

My first nature documentary.

This felt kind of out of date. It is all about the vanishing prairie... yeah the name kind of tells you that anyway. I really didn't like the bit where the buffalo gives birth - that was something I could've gone my whole life without if I am being honest.

Still scarred, 1/10

The Little Mermaid Live

This was... interesting.

So half of this film was the original animated film and half was the stage show. I honesty was quite disappointed that it wasn't just the whole stage show.. it was weird. Shaggy plays Sebastian really well and I also loved the Ursula played by Queen Latifah. However, I just hated all the poor transitions and how unnatural the whole thing felt.

A very neutral 5/10

Zapped

I am speechless.

This is about a girl who breaks her phone and then suddenly she can control men. Yeah. I thought it was a kinda weird storyline. And I didn't overly like the main character, at first I did and I thought she was sweet but like she changes once she gets this power. I mean we didn't even need the mean girl in this film as we already had one in the protagonist...

2/10 no words

Zootropolis

Is this film called Zootropolis or Zootopia? I'm genuinely confused.

This is the CUTEST film ever!!! It is about a bunny rabbit who dreams of becoming part of the police force which is not really a bunny rabbit job. She ends up landing herself this massive case and the whole thing was actually really unpredictable. I thought the whole story line and everything was so thought out and this film really blew my mind... as well as having such adorable characters.

10/10 can't fault it

Tuck Everlasting

I loved this book in year seven.

However, it is true what they say... the books are way better than the films. Nothing was overly clear in the films and I ended up not even liking my favourite characters. This film is about a family which is immortal and they are trying to make sure no-one finds out. But then the boy falls in love with someone and it all goes wrong! Great storyline and I would really recommend the book, perhaps I just had such high expectations...

However, it's a 2/10

The Incredibles 2

I can't even describe how excited I was to watch this.

This time it is mummy Elasti-Girl who goes off on a secret mission. I had kinda predicted what was going to happen... and so I have dropped a mark for the predictability. But oh my gosh Edna Mode and Jack-Jack's relationship is the best thing to ever evolve in a movie. Similarly, seeing how Mr Incredible struggles with just his normal life was rather funny.

Definitely worth the wait: 9/10

The Incredibles

Literally one of the biggest cliffhangers in history.

This film is about a family of supers who aren't really allowed to be super! The Dad (Mr Incredible) then takes a job on this island and his family come to rescue him. My favourite character is easily the babysitter - she is hilarious. I was so confused by Mirage and her like intentions. But this film is beautiful and so appropriate for all of the family.

Highly recommend: 9/10

Ice Princess

I watched this after my love for Go Figure.

Honestly, it doesn't even compare to Go Figure so that was sad. This girl is doing a physics project about ice skating and then really starts to like ice skating. I was really disappointed by her mum's character and that their relationship still seemed a bit off at the end, left me feeling like very unsatisfied. Rest of the film was enjoyable though.

Mum's ruined it: 6/10

High School Musical 3

This should've been number 2 and left at this.

This film brought back some of my love for this franchise. It is their Senior Year and they are so busy applying for colleges and prom etc. Gabriella does also ruin this film... not only does she insist on playing the lead which Sharpay should really do as she is being watched by her dream college but she also makes Troy miss his prom.

Rest of the cast: 7/10, Gabriella - 1/10

High School Musical 2

This film ruined the franchise.

This one is set in the summer vacation and Troy is aiming to get himself known as a basketball player, and Sharpay she is an angel and helps him using her parents' influence. However, Gabriella's character is whiny and unhelpful. She is even kinda manipulative and toxic, if Troy was a friend of mine I would've told him to get rid ages ago. But Ryan's character really develops in this film and I love Chad's weird I don't dance song which he sings while... well dancing.

Sorry Gabriella but you've dragged it to a 4/10

High School Music

The Gen-Z girl classic.

This film is great, and so are the songs. But personally, I find Troy and Gabriella's relationship a bit too much... like calm it down you guys are like 15. The whole film brought me back to my childhood and all the sing-a-long sleepovers I used to have.

Could do better: 8/10

Hannah Montana The Movie

I was obsessed as a child... like I had the outfit and everything.

I was worried I would not enjoy this film as much as I did before... but boy was I wrong?! This is about Hannah (a major celebrity) who goes back to her roots in the country. This film is so underrated and I even shed a little tear. It was absolutely fabulous and that little girl at the end is the cutest girl ever! However, Hannah was so rude to Lily at the start so she drops a mark for being a meanie.

Overall, 9/10

Go Figure

How had I not seen this sooner?

This film is AMAZING and so underrated!!! It is about a girl who in order to ice skate gets a hockey scholarship. The film explores how hard she finds this but she refuses to give up! It is fabulous and so heart-warming and even though she seems kinda spoilt you still find the character lovable. The ending was also the cutest thing I have ever seen.

One of my new favourites: 9.5/10

George of the Jungle

One of my top films of all time.

This is like a bad version of Tarzan. I was laughing all through this. However, the animals seem very unrealistic looking which was sad. And like the whole thing seemed so rushed and quick - I would have much rather had a more clear focus of the film and it to have been taken over two films or something. But, like I said this was hilarious!

So, a strong 7/10

Garfield: Tale of Two Kitties

I had no idea this was a Disney film.

I love Garfield, but this was not the film that I thought. This is the one where John goes to propose in London and Garfield and Odie come too. Garfield then gets mistaken for prince: another spoilt cat. And this guy is also trying to kill Prince. Anyway, it was not as funny as I remembered and Odie was barely in it.

Unfortunately, a disappointed 5/10

Disney's Fairytale Weddings: Holiday Magic

This is an amazing series on Disney Plus as well.

The whole idea of this is that it focuses on weddings of people who have either proposed at Disney or have their wedding at Disney. This special spin-off (which is classed as a movie on the website) focuses on Christmas. Although it was odd to watch a Christmas themed thing in April, I still did enjoy this. I really do like the programme but do not feel it should be classed as a movie.

Therefore, a 7/10 is what is deserved here.

The Even Steven's Movie

I remember the TV show growing up but not the movie.

This is about a family who get given a free holiday abroad to this island they've never heard of (and for some reason unknown to anyone normal they decide to go). Anyway, weird things keep happening to them and overall it is a really funny film which had me laughing quite a lot. The whole family dynamic is also so realistic.

Overall, a pleasant surprise so an 8/10

Emperor's New Groove

One of my childhood favourites.

I honestly don't understand how Kuzco is so under-appreciated, he is such a funny character. However, Kronk is my ultimate favourite and he did not get enough screen time - NO WHERE NEAR ENOUGH. This film is about an emperor who is mean to his subjects and then an evil lady (Yzma) tries to kill him to take over but accidentally turns him into a llama. I know it sounds weird, but definitely worth a watch.

Needs more Kronk: 8/10

Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off

I honestly can't believe how much I enjoyed this film.

This is about a boy called Eddie whose family is obsessed with sports and so he feels he also has to play sports, but his real passion lands with cooking. OK I know it doesn't sound like much but honestly made my heart melt. The ending was disappointing... like the competition results were disappointing and not what I expected.

Due to feeling unsatisfied at the end, a strong 7/10

Double Teamed

Another Disney classic...

This film is about two really tall twins who play volleyball, then they start playing basketball, but one of them doesn't want to play basketball. But, I couldn't really tell them apart and then they both seemed to want to play basketball. Not going to lie, I was pretty confused during this film. Very heart-warming with the relationship with the mean girl though.

Due to that, it gets a 3/10

Dadnapped

I had never heard of this and honestly I'm not surprised.

This is about a dad who is a writer and hosts this competition and then he gets kidnapped with his daughter. Yeah... it's odd. I thought the whole thing was strange and confusing and I watched it while ironing and genuinely paid more attention to my brother's collar than to this film. I laughed a few times - not overly sure it was at the parts I was supposed to laugh at though.

Therefore, I'll be nice with a 4/10

Beauty and the Beast (animated)

This was my mum's favourite film while I was growing up so I was very excited to re-watch this one!

And oh my gosh... I forgot how amazing this film is! If you have lived under a rock all of your life: it is about a girl who saves her father by offering to be the beast's prisoner. They then fall in love with a traditional tale as old as time. Get it? And of course, the soundtrack is out of this world.

I can't fault it, therefore 10/10

Adventures in Babysitting (original)

As there are two of these films on Disney Plus - I thought I would start with the old original.

I was pleasantly surprised by this film actually, I tend to find some films pretty dated but I still found this one extremely relevant. It is about a girl who reluctantly babysits for a family, but when she needs to go pick up her friend from the city, she ends up taking all three children with her. They end up on an amazing adventure which made me laugh my socks off! I did find some of the scenes a bit unsuitable for children though and did not feel the whole magazine part of the story was overly necessary or appropriate.

Therefore, it dropped down to a 7/10

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Not going to lie, I had to look up the title of this film - it is extremely long!

I laughed quite a few times during this film. It is about a boy who always had bad luck and so wishes for his family to have really bad luck for a day. My expectation was not overly high but this was hilarious - my favourite part is at then end when the cowboys turn up. I would actually recommend and I think this is one a whole family may even enjoy!

Overall, a decent 8/10

Buffalo Dreams

I had never even heard of this film before.

However, I was pleasantly surprised. It's about a boy who is used to living in the city but they move to a more country area for their dad's work. I didn't think much of it at first to be honest and did not think I was going to enjoy it. But the little boy becomes such a lovable character and the ending really made my heart melt!

This one deserves a strong 7/10

Brave

I haven't seen a lot of the newer Disney films so I was really excited to watch this.

I thought it had a beautiful story line and was impressed by the ending. I loved how this was not a classical Disney film and I think the whole family would have been loving this film as it isn't a traditional princess story! I would highly recommend this one for sure and loved how everything linked. However, I thought there could have been more emphasis on the triplets because they were the absolute cutest and I reckon they got up to some adventures!

Because of this, it's a 9/10 for me

The Bears and I

I have never watched this film (or even heard of it).

I was kinda confused the whole time and rather disappointed. It's about a man who wants a quiet life and becomes like a dad figure to 3 bears. It was as weird as it sounds and unfortunately I fell asleep right near the end so it couldn't even keep me awake.

Due to this, a 0/10 in my opinion

The Aristocats

This was one of my favourite childhood films so I was so excited to watch this one!

This is a film about some cats who get abandoned by the butler and need to find their way home. I still love all of the songs and how Toulouse does his painting. And of course, Thomas is an amazing character! I was however, like kinda disappointed as Marie was my favourite character growing up but she's like kinda spoilt and keeps getting herself into trouble e.g. falling into the water.

Unfortunately due to thus, it drops to a 7/10

Alice Through the Looking Glass

I decided to watch this after the new version of Alice In Wonderland because, you know, it follows it.

First of all, I was not the biggest fan of this film. This time, the Mad Hatter is in trouble and Alice has to save him. Therefore, a lot of the film focuses on him - great idea he is a fabulous character. I actually found this movie kind of sad though in a way and sort of unsatisfying. I also don't understand how the Queen of Hearts managed to get so much screen time.

Overall, a disappointed 6/10

Alice In Wonderland (re-imagined)

The first film which I watched once purchasing Disney Plus was Alice in Wonderland. I had never seen the new version so I was rather excited.

I found it a really good film. It's about a girl called Alice who's father was an explorer and she has these odd dreams of a place called Wonderland. Anyway, she ends up in this dream world of Wonderland and has to save all the people (and animals) who live there.

I really enjoyed watching this film, however, I thought it was a little eccentric. I was a tad confused at times as well.

Overall, a strong 7/10

I set myself a challenge...

Morning,

I recently bought Disney Plus.. you know, because we're on lockdown and I can't do much else.

And I decided I would watch every single Disney movie on there. Yes, all 605.

Therefore, I thought I would pass my wisdom onto you: what films to watch and what ones just aren't worth the hype!

Tangled

This was my first time watching this film. This film is based on the story of Rapunzel. A girl has this magical hair so the baddie (Mother...
